Lodging
Attendees are strongly encouraged to stay at the Asilomar Conference Grounds, as lodging is immediately adjacent to the conference venue (and in a spectacular natural setting).
Please complete the online HOUSING FORM. Asilomar can assist with finding roommates to split the cost of multi-person rooms (see form for details). Please note that attendees are strongly encouraged to stay at the Asilomar Conference Grounds. Those who opt to stay elsewhere will have to pay a State Park usage fee as well as pay for meals at the conference grounds.
Based on the schedule, we encourage you to make reservations starting the night of January 9th (arrival) through the night of the 13th (checking out the morning of the 14th). Room options are described at the Asilomar website. Rooms are relatively small, but affordable. Asilomar provides two room options: Single occupancy with a nightly rate of $222.19, and Double occupancy with a nightly rate of $147.36. A one-time processing fee is charged by Asilomar to handle registrations and, in particular, to help arrange room sharing for people wishing to economize by sharing a room.
Note that:
1. Lodging costs include state-park fees, taxes, and all meals (dinner the day you arrive, through breakfast the day you leave).
2. The HOUSING FORM includes the option to request a specific roommate (who must register for lodging within 5 days of you), or to request that Asilomar find a roommate match for you.
Individuals who prefer to stay elsewhere in the area, or who prefer to camp should contact the Asilomar Conference Grounds to buy tickets for meals. People staying off-site will also have to pay the conference grounds a $10 Facility Fee per day, as the conference grounds are in a California State Park. This fee is included in the price of lodging.
Food
While conference attendees are free to explore restaurants in Pacific Grove, the dining hall at Asilomar has excellent cuisine featuring fresh, local produce and a menu that varies daily. Food at the Asilomar dining hall is included in lodging costs for people staying at Asilomar (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
People lodging off-site will have to pay for meals, if they wish to dine with the rest of the conference attendees and need to contact Asilomar to request the meals before the conference starts.
